Useful excuses for those inclined to commit felonies. I’ll bet some mob boys are thinking; “Hey, why didn’t I think of that?! If I get busted, I’ll just run for President!”

Richard Nixon SHOULD have stood trial. And, later, when it was revealed that his crew contacted the North Vietnamese negotiators, in Paris, to NOT agree to anything, because once he was elected, they would get a better deal!

Rewrite history much? The payment to Daniels was made in October 2016. That was the attempt to bury the story so it wouldn’t influence the election. Trump wrote the reimbursement checks to Cohen prior to January 20, 2017 (when Trump was sworn in). Yes, it was after the election, but the attempt to kill the story occurred before the election. The falsified reimbursement checks (the misdemeanor if viewed as a single act) accursed before he was sworn in. The part that makes it felony is because the falsification of the checks covered an act that occurred before the election.

Why is it that you are so incapable of telling the truth?

Goodwyn again triggers the troll with pesky Truth. More truth: The NY D.A. declined to prosecute as did the D.O.J. Not until a political strategy was needed to attack Trump did Alvin Bragg decide to engager in lawfare and attack Trump with this stinking pile of junk.

If he gets back in all this will look like a walk in the park compared to his planned revenge-fest. And it won’t be just one election influenced this time; either there won’t be any more or they’ll be Russian-style, with serious adversaries in prison. He’s already said as much.

Under New York State law, the crime Trump has been charged with, falsifying business records, is a misdemeanor unless it is committed in the course of another felony. The felony in this case is the conspiracy between Trump and the National Inquirer

We never had such a crooked president before, Trump is ten times worse than Nixon and voted the worst president of the USA.

You’d think someone who’s on trial for paying someone to keep their mouth shut, would understand how a gag order works.

Funny how right wingers try to rationalize their criminal behavior to fool ignorant Magas.

T**** is on trial for reporting hush money as a business expense. The payout (which did occur before the election) would have been completely legal if he hadn’t tried to use it as a tax deduction.

Let us not forget about Ms. McDougal, who had an affair with him whose story was buried by Mr. P*cker’s “Catch and Kill”. I saw her interview on “60 minutes”. After their first sexual encounter, he attempted to give her money for it. Let that sink in.

And she states she fell in love with him. Let THAT sink in.

Bragg was seated while the NYC DA office had concluded its investigation of President Trump which decided not to prosecute. Bragg was fully briefed on the investigation and has the same information now as he did back in 2022. He could brought charges back then but chose to wait in order to hamper President Trump’s campaign. This is a clear case of election interference by the Democrats.

Well, now, mister Repub-phant, whose memory is supposed to be so good, there was that impeachment of Pres. Bill Clinton. Remember him now. Repubs impeached him to bring him down with the only charge having to do with lying about his sex life. The only somewhat criminal matter had to do with a land deal while Pres.Clinton was governor of Arkansas. While the land deal was for some mountain property, that later had to be sold, the Repubs made it out to be a backroom deal done with mobsters. In the end, the Clintons lost money on their sale of the property. Hillary said just think what they would’ve said had we made money on the deal.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the MAGA SCOTUS justice gives the mob boss a “Go and Sin No More!” slappy-wristy as they solemnly pinky-swear that (anoint, anoint), that henceforth, acts of treason, sedition, coup attempts, murder, bribery, corruption, and various “Meat and Potatoes” crimes by the President is a no-no.

And because the MAGA Messiah was exonerated once, he’s grandfathered in and granted one (and only one!) free Cartman-Rule (“I’ll do what I wannnnnt!”) Mulligan each day.

Yeah, boy, that’ll do it! Yeah, he sure (in the words of senior MAGA choir girl Susan Collins (R-ME). “Learned his lesson” now !

Don’t forget the millions the Republicans spent “investigating” Jimmy Carter’s peanut farm (“Peanut-Gate”) as a suspected violation of the Emoluments Clause… except he had already deeded it over to his brother.

But hey, the billions squeezed and extorted by the previous White House crime family and their crony criminal political appointees are just spiffy with the ’pubs.

tRump wanted the trial delayed until the SCOTUS ruled on his immunity bid. 2 points:

It looks like he isn’t going to get it.

The events in question occurred when he was just candidate tRump, before the election. So even if he does get his immunity, it won’t be retroactive through his whole previous life.

The sob tried to steal an election that he lost. What part of this do you not get? As to the trial it’s in now, the acts that occurred in 2016 and 2017, the District Attorney delayed filing the charges for several years. The District Attorney has argued that the statutes of limitations were tolled during COVID, or that they were extended when Trump left the state.
